\"image1\"<\/a>Alford Squash Club was formed in 1978 by a group of committed and enthusiastic local volunteers who originally made plans for the building of the courts to be located at the rear of the Windmill Hotel as a private enterprise. However, the eventual outcome was for the building of the courts in the present location at the rear of the local Cooperative Store on the East side of Alford, off Millers Way (see map below for directions), thanks to a lease of land from the East Lindsey District Council. Much hard work, research and fund raising took place to establish the club and today the club is run with the same spirit and attitudes in mind, as a committee of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers steer our local squash club forward in every way possible.<\/p>\n

\"image1\"<\/a>The club has seen a recent increase in younger players, after a ‘thin’ time following its previous Junior and Youth development phase with many students participating from the two local secondary schools, John Spendluffe Technology College and Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar school. We now have occasional opportunities for all members to watch and develop at ‘Elite evenings’ (see gallery on separate page) with a major player and coach from Nottingham Squash Club leading the evenings.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Balcony<\/a>Alford Squash Club members can play at Club Nights, in the Club’s league and other local competitions or simply for leisure, including occasional games with non-members. Additionally, details can be provided of Lincolnshire County Squash Leagues. Whether you are looking to keep fit, maintain a healthy lifestyle, succeed at a high level or simply get out of the office or workplace for some fresh air and exercise, Alford Squash Club has it all for you.<\/p>\n

The Club’s facilities have been upgraded with\u00a0 a complete revamp of the ladies and men’s showers, new carpeting, onsite defibrillator and more\u00a0LED lighting (2025),\u00a0 substantial court upgrades (2024) and a new roof (2022). More improvements are planned for 2026.<\/p>\n
